FCP Live-In was proud to do a “Lunch and Learn” presentation of FCP Live-In’s services to the Interdisciplinary Care Team at Apple Rehab Watertown, in Watertown, CT!
FCP Live-In Homecare’s Assistance Coordinator, Kelley Green, and Sales Development Manager, Andrea Maroto, provided an informative Lunch & Learn presentation to the Interdisciplinary Care Team at Apple Rehab Watertown, in Watertown, Connecticur. While enjoying a tasty lunch, Kelley & Andrea presented FCP Live-In Homecare’s services to the team of social workers, nurses, admissions coordinator, business office, rehabilitation, and other staff. The team learned how our professional certified caregivers can help reduce readmissions from their patients who frequently have accidents or neglected or mismanaged care needs, which creates situations that negatively affect their health and well-being and often results in them needing to return to the hospital and rehabilitation centers shortly after being discharged home.
The team learned how FCP Live-In caregivers are thoughtfully selected to work with their clients through a process designed by FCP Live-In home care to ensure that each caregiver meets their clients’ physical and emotional needs, unique personalities, and individual preferences. Kelley discussed how FCP Live-In home care has been perfecting the live-in caregiver selection process for over 25 years to not only ensure care needs are met but that we sincerely do our best to make an excellent match for each of our unique caregivers with clients who will genuinely like each other and enjoy each other’s company, setting them up for success right from the start! They’re going to be spending a lot of time together after all!
Kelley explained that everything possible is done to make the best match right from the beginning, but if the match isn’t right at first, the client just has to let them know, and they’ll immediately match them with someone else. This process begins with every client being assigned to work with a dedicated, knowledgeable, and compassionate Care Coordinator who provides support and direction through the entire intake process and continues with the caring support of their assigned Field Support Supervisors who intimately manage the case from the first day of care until it ends.
Kelley also explained to the team that we don’t forget about the needs of the clients’ families and spouses and pointed out that their needs are just as unique and need to be considered just as much as their loved ones. Spouses, children, siblings, and other family or friends are the ones who trust them to care for their loved ones, often communicating with caregivers several times a day, relying on them to be their eyes and ears and also relying on them to be their advocates with physicians and other providers. Caregivers often also care for loved ones by providing emotional support and being a “go-to” expert for many of their care-related questions. With a minimum of at least 2 years of professional caregiving experience, caregivers often provide a wealth of information to loved ones.
Kelley discussed how families, clients, and caregivers get to know and trust each other very intimately and personally; they learn to anticipate their client’s needs instinctively and develop meaningful long-term relationships. FCP Live-In’s long-term 7-day-a-week caregiver staffing model and the fact that many caregivers stay with clients for several weeks to even months at a time help ensure consistency and continuity of care. Kelley and Andrea shared how many clients and family members say they don’t know how they managed without their FCP Live-In caregiver and often say they’re now considered a part of their family.
Thanks to Staff Development Coordinator Amanda Lemieux and Social Services Director Sarah Mucci for coordinating the event and allowing FCP Live-In to present its services to their team.
