Salesforce: Using the Salesforce “Recycle bin” to recover a deleted file

Using the Salesforce “Recycle bin” to recover a deleted file

Log into your account in Salesforce to proceed. This seems to only work in Lightning and not Classic mode.

1. Click on the nine circles in the upper left corner.

2. In the “Search apps and items…” field start typing “Recycle.”

3. The word “Recycle Bin” will pop-up in the dropdown. Click on it.

4. This will take you to the “Recycle bin” and everything you deleted will be shown here. It will list “Record Name, Type, Deleted By, Deleted Date,” and to restore the file click on the arrow to the right. You can “restore” or “delete” the file. This only goes back for about two-weeks.

5. If you are an “admin” click on the down arrow next to “My Recycle Bin.”
Click on “Org Recycle Bin” to see what everyone has deleted for roughly the past two weeks. It will list “Record Name, Type, Deleted By, Deleted Date,” and to restore the file click on the arrow to the right. You can “restore” or “delete” the file.
